Lu Xun (鲁迅) [September 25, 1881 - October 19, 1936] was a Chinese writer, thinker and revolutionary. His original name was Zhou Shuren, and his character Yu Cai was a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. He was born in a poor feudal family. In his youth, he was influenced by the theory of evolution, Nietzsche's philosophy of the Superman and Tolstoy's idea of fraternity.
